A longtime associate of Whitey Herzog, Joe McDonald worked his way up through the Mets organization from 1965 to 1980, rising to General Manager. He then joined the Cardinals and became GM at the start of the 1982 championship season. McDonald later scouted for three Red Sox champion squads (2004, 2007 and 2013). Presented is McDonald's '82 World Series ring from the Cards' seven-game victory over the Brewers. CARDINALS WORLD CHAMPIONS logo on top of the ring.The ring also has the date 1982 on one side of the ring,on the other side, it is McDONALD. There is one round brilliant cut diamond in the center. The diamond measures approximately 4.50 mm. weighing approximately 0.40 carats, H-I (near colorless) color, SI-1 clarity. The diamond is pronged (6) and set within a red cabochon stone. Inside the shank of the ring is engraving: 10K stamp.
