Nestled in Baltimore’s cozy Waverly neighborhood, the original Oriole Park was home to an International League juggernaut whose fan support eventually paved the way to a Major League franchise. These (4) vintage Baltimore Orioles payroll checks were endorsed by shrewd executives who helped shape and maintain one of the game’s most formidable dynasties. All are encapsulated with signatures assessed “Authentic” by PSA/DNA. Includes:

George Weiss: drawn from the team account at “National Marine Bank,” the voucher is dated “July 1 1929” and is endorsed on the appropriate line by Hall of Famer and farm system pioneer Weiss (black ink fountain pen; “7-8” strength).

Charles Knapp: drawn from the team account at “National Marine Bank,” the voucher is dated “April 20 1931” and is endorsed on the appropriate line by team president Knapp (black ink fountain pen; “8-9” strength).

H.P. Dawson: drawn from the team account at “National Marine Bank,” the voucher is dated “April 17 1933” and is endorsed on the appropriate line by Dawson in his capacity as general manager (black ink fountain pen; “8-9” strength).

Charles Knapp, Jr./John Ogden: drawn from the team account at “National Marine Bank,” the voucher is dated “May 9 1939” and is respectively endorsed on the appropriate lines by secretary/president Knapp, Jr. (black ink fountain pen; “9” strength) and vice president Ogden (black ink fountain pen; “10” strength).
