In the third year of its “doubleheader” format, the Major League All-Star Game landed in Boston for a July 31, 1961 Monday afternoon exhibition. For the first time in the event’s history, the Midsummer Classic ended in a tie as a downpour soaked Fenway Park after nine innings. Encapsulated and Graded VG-EX 4 by PSA, this press pass was issued for that 1-1 pitchers duel. The crisp oblong voucher granted its bearer access to the Fenway Park roof and features printed details and blank identification lines on the obverse, as well as printed legal details and the facsimile signature of Red Sox president Thomas Yawkey on the reverse.
