Description

Living up to his “can’t miss” billing, switch-hitting legend, 19-year-old phenom Mickey Mantle was penciled in as the starting right fielder as the Yankees opened the 1951 World Series in the Bronx. Encapsulated and assessed “Authentic” by PSA, this full printer’s proof ticket was the prototype for Yankee Stadium vouchers issued for Mantle’s very first of 65 career Fall Classic games. The lone graded specimen, this colorful voucher features printed event details, Yankees stars-and-stripes themed “top hat” logos and the facsimile signature of club president Daniel Topping. The absence of section, row and seat identifiers confirms the souvenir’s status as a printer’s proof.
