Description

Make solid contact with Stan Musial, when you get your hands on this twice-signed, game-used bat. A Louisville Slugger dating from 1953-1955, this genuine Musial signature model has a lot going for it. A Musial facsimile autograph located on the barrel, identifies this bat as a rare "large signature" type, of which only a few examples are known, making it a prime target for advanced collectors.

Heavy signs of authentic use include contact marks, baseball stitch impressions, bat rack streaks, cleat impressions, and tape residue on the handle. Musial has signed twice on the barrel, with one signature ("7.5") personalized with "Fred Jr. from your buddie"; and the other signature ("9.5") accompanied by the inscription "gamer". Also noted on the barrel, is ghosting of the inscription "Biggies", which was the name of Musial's restaurant in St. Louis.

The model number M159 is impressed into the knob, and a Mears certification sticker is located on the end of the barrel. The accompanying full photo LOA from Mears assigns an authentic game use grade of (A8.5), and notes that the bat is consistent with the factory records. Auction LOA from JSA for the autographs.
